Terms for households
The terms for consumers who buy the Edge HEMS (€ 150) or the estimated energy advice (€ 100) from Edge FS B.V.: ordering, payment by payment link, delivery, the 14-day right of withdrawal, the monitoring period and the optional subscription afterwards, what the advice is and is not, liability, privacy and complaints. They come on top of consumer law, never instead of it.
1. Who and what
These terms apply to agreements between Edge FS B.V. (EdgeTech), Brigittenstraat 11, 3512 KJ Utrecht, the Netherlands, KvK 86278770, VAT NL863918505B01, support@edgetech.eu, and a consumer: someone who does not buy for a business or profession. They cover:
- Measured advice: the Edge HEMS (HEMS-00) monitoring device, its dashboard during the first monitoring period and the energy report;
- Estimated advice: a written energy advice from your bill and photos of your type labels, without hardware;
- The subscription you can take after the first monitoring period.
Where these terms and consumer law differ, consumer law wins. Our general terms do not apply to consumers.
2. Prices
All prices are in euros and include VAT. The Edge HEMS costs € 150 plus shipping; the estimated advice costs € 100. The shipping cost is shown before you pay. The price on the day you submit the form applies.
3. Ordering and payment
Submitting the form is a request, not yet a purchase. Within two working days we reply by email with what you ordered, the price, these terms and a payment link. The agreement is made when you pay through that link. If we cannot deliver, for example because your meter has no P1 port, we tell you before you pay.
4. Delivery
We ship the Edge HEMS to addresses in the Netherlands and Belgium, normally within ten working days after payment. If we cannot deliver within 30 days, you may cancel and we refund you within 14 days.
The estimated advice reaches you by email within one week after we have your payment and everything we need. If we are missing something, we ask, and the week starts when we have it.
5. Right of withdrawal
Edge HEMS. You may withdraw within 14 days after you receive it, without giving a reason. Tell us by email or with the form below, and send the device back within 14 days after that; the cost of returning it is yours. We refund what you paid, including the standard shipping cost, within 14 days after your message, but we may wait until the device is back or you show you have sent it. Handle the device as you would in a shop: plugging it in and trying it is fine.
Estimated advice. This is a service. You may withdraw within 14 days after the agreement is made. In the order form you ask us to start right away; if you then withdraw before the advice is sent, you pay nothing. Once the advice has been sent in full, the right of withdrawal ends, which you confirm in the order form.
After 14 days the Edge HEMS is yours. There is nothing to return and no refund, and the price is not a rental or a deposit.
Withdrawal form (use it only if you want to withdraw): To Edge FS B.V., Brigittenstraat 11, 3512 KJ Utrecht, support@edgetech.eu. I withdraw from my agreement on the following product or service: … Ordered on / received on: … Name: … Address: … Date: …
6. The monitoring period and the subscription
The Edge HEMS monitors only: it reads your smart meter and does not switch or control anything in your home. The first monitoring period lasts at least three months and at most one year from activation; you choose when you want your report, and a longer period gives better advice. The dashboard is included during that period.
After the first monitoring period you may continue with a subscription: the dashboard and new reports. Its price and terms are announced before the first monitoring period ends; you pay in advance through a payment link. A subscription is never automatic and never renews by itself: before it ends we ask by email whether you want to continue. Without a subscription the device stays yours and keeps working, but the dashboard stops and there is no support.
Control is certain only for EdgeTech chargers. Other equipment, over Modbus or a relay, is assessed case by case; we never promise it in advance.
7. What the advice is
The advice is based on your data, your bill, your type labels and the prices at the time, and on assumptions we state in the report. Savings and payback times in it are estimates, not promises: future prices, tariffs, rules and your own use decide what you actually save. Before you buy equipment or change your installation, check the offer of the supplier and have electrical work done by a qualified installer.
8. Guarantee
The Edge HEMS must be what you ordered and work as described: that is the legal guarantee, and these terms do not limit it. Report a defect within two months after you discover it, by email. We repair or replace the device, or, if that is not possible, refund it. The guarantee does not cover damage from opening the device, from use outside its specification or from a defect in your meter or WiFi.
9. Liability
We are liable for damage we cause, as the law provides. We are not liable for savings that do not come true, for decisions you take on the basis of the advice, or for interruptions of your WiFi, the internet or your energy supplier’s data. Our liability is limited to the price you paid, except for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and except where the law does not allow a limit.
10. Your data
We use your meter data, your bill and your photos only for your advice, your dashboard and your subscription; we never sell them. The bill and the photos are deleted after the advice is sent. Meter data is deleted within 90 days after the monitoring period or the subscription ends, unless you ask us to keep it. See the privacy statement.
11. Complaints and law
Mail complaints to support@edgetech.eu; we answer within 14 days. If we cannot solve it together, Dutch law applies and you may go to the court where you live. These terms do not take away any right that consumer law in your country gives you.
