Plaza Charge
Up to 12 cars on one shared 3×35 A connection. Up to 12 plugs per pole between 6 + 6 parking spaces, or spread over more poles. Every car plugged in for at least 8 hours gets at least 50 km added, even with all 12 plugs in use (cars that charge on three phases). Cars can stay plugged in, and charging can follow a flexible energy contract.

Specifications
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Plugs | Up to 12 per pole, between 6 + 6 parking spaces; the 12 plugs can also be spread over more poles, for example 6 poles with 2 plugs |
| Grid connection | One 3×35 A connection, a standard size in the Netherlands, shared by all cars |
| Guaranteed minimum | At least 50 km added for every car plugged in for at least 8 hours, with all 12 plugs in use; more when fewer cars are charging. Guaranteed for cars that charge on three phases |
| Smart charging and grid congestion | The site never draws more than a set limit, which can be lowered at peak hours; with GridShield the grid operator can lower it in an emergency |
| Use | Overnight top-up for residents, employees, fleets; not fast charging |
| Always plugged in | Cars can stay plugged in after they are charged; nobody has to move their car to free the plug |
| Flexible energy contracts | Charging can follow the hours when energy is cheap, within the guaranteed minimum |
| Sites | Car parks, VvE garages, company lots, and DC fast-charging sites that want cheap overnight AC charging for taxis, vans and buses |
| Metering and authorisation | Per plug; NFC reader as the standard authorisation; details to be confirmed |
The idea
Charging infrastructure is expensive because it is sized for the fastest case. Plaza Charge is sized for the common case: a car that stands still for many hours. One 3×35 A connection is shared by up to twelve cars. A car plugged in for at least 8 hours gets at least 50 km added, even when all twelve plugs are in use; this is guaranteed for cars that charge on three phases.
Because the cars share the connection, they can stay plugged in: there is no need to move a car when it is charged. And because a parked car has time, charging can follow a flexible energy contract and use the hours when energy is cheap.
The site never draws more than a set limit, and that limit can be lowered at peak hours. That keeps Plaza Charge clear of grid congestion: it does not ask for a bigger connection, and with GridShield the grid operator can lower the limit in an emergency.
Two concept designs
The pictures are concept renders, not final products. Both show the same site of 12 plugs: two rows of six bays nose to nose, with the charging points on a 2.4 m island between them. Drivers use their own cable and reverse in, so the charge port is at the island.
| Design A: one column | Design C: six dual poles | |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | One 12-sided column, 700 mm across, about 1.75 m tall, with a sun cap | Slim anthracite poles, 240 × 200 mm, 1.4 m tall, one between each pair of facing bays |
| Sockets | 12 Type 2 sockets at 1.0 m, one per face, each facing its own bay | 2 Type 2 sockets per pole at 0.95 m, one toward each row |
| Cable reach | Middle bays about 2–3 m; the outer bays (1, 6, 7, 12) need a 7.5 m cable | Every bay about 2–3 m |
| Suits | One installation point; long cables or charge ports in unusual places | Short cables for every car |

Questions
Who installs and services it?
Any qualified electrician can install it; the installation manual is on this site. We also work with a group of certified installers across the Netherlands who install and service our chargers. Ask us and we put you in touch.
Is 50 km enough?
For most daily trips, yes, and it is the minimum, not the maximum. A car that needs more one night gets more when its neighbours are full or absent.
Do I have to move my car when it is charged?
No. Plaza Charge is made for cars that stay plugged in. A charged car simply stops drawing current, and the rest goes to the other cars.
